VCAT fee calculator
Use this VCAT fee calculator to see the fees for a consumer or home building claim from 1 July 2026. Regulations set the fees, and they change each 1 July.
How the VCAT fee calculator works
This VCAT fee calculator shows the application fee for a consumer or home building claim, and the hearing, mediation and compulsory conference fees that can follow. The regulations also set who pays the standard, corporate or concession fee.1 The amount depends on what the claim is about and how much you claim.2 Apart from fees, each party usually pays its own legal costs at VCAT.3 Most home building disputes must go to the Building and Plumbing Commission first.4
The fees apply from 1 July 2026. Your answers stay on your device; nothing is sent to us unless you choose Start online.
